Flamingos are perhaps Africa’s greatest enigma. Dressed pretty and in pink, these birds inhabit the most inhospitable environments. Moving between Africa’s soda lakes at night, you are never quite sure where they will appear. Dazzling, dancing, shy, elusive, colourful and aloof – a marvelous mystery. Photographed here passing over Lake Logipi (northern Kenya).
