The painted wolves of Africa are notoriously successful hunters. But it was only recently that a large pack in Zambia’s Lower Zambezi National Park started hunting buffalo. As the pack of wild dogs, totalling over 20, stormed a herd of Cape Buffalo, the dust and atmosphere was surreal – making for a painterly portrait of ‘the great hunt’.
