Many years ago I spent sixteen months staking out a waterhole in Kenya’s Shompole region, with my film camera. Eighteen years later I returned, and this time it was sitting in a luxury hide and with a digital camera, that I took this photograph. Zebra, dust and a Kori Bustard – all icons of Shompole and a place very close to my heart.
